Ride Program

Remember The Cross, Inc. presents the RIDE program, an initiative aimed at addressing the transportation gaps faced by disabled and underserved individuals in Jackson County, Missouri. Leveraging grant funding from CFDA # 20.940, this program seeks to promote equity, inclusion, and improved quality of life by offering dedicated transportation services during traditionally underserved times.

Program Overview

The RIDE program will offer transportation services from 5 pm-9 pm, Monday-Saturday, and 9 am-5 pm on Sunday. These time slots have been identified as critical periods when disabled and underserved individuals face barriers to accessing entertainment, essential services, and community activities.

Leadership

The program will be spearheaded by Joseph Mobley, a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in organizational leadership. Joseph’s reputation is further solidified as an award-winning entrepreneur and advocate for disabled persons, and is disabled himself, showcasing his dedication to community-focused projects and his ability to oversee impactful programs.

Key Components

  1. Accessibility: Special emphasis on acquiring vehicles equipped to accommodate a range of disabilities.
  2. Awareness: A robust promotion campaign will inform the community about this initiative, ensuring maximum reach and uptake.
  3. Reservation System: Implementation of an efficient reservation and scheduling system will enable users to plan and make spontaneous trips.
  4. Training: Drivers and support staff will undergo comprehensive training on disability awareness, safety, and best practices.

Modification Assessments Plan for Safety (MAPS)

Remember The Cross Inc. is tremendously proud of the impact that we are making in helping our clients by providing exceptional service. Our program will be a two-component program that provides a virtual self-advocacy workshop or an in-home assessment by a professional to help evaluate the homes of seniors, veterans, or individuals with disabilities, in terms of accessibility, activities, comfort/satisfaction, and aesthetics.

Self Advocacy

Our goal is to create an environment where the disabled persons are able to care and advocate for themselves. We take great pride in allowing their non-disabled family members to benefit by being uninterrupted from their jobs and other daily living obligations.

In-Home Assessment

The associates at Remember The Cross Inc. work as a team with an understanding that homes of Kansas City must become more accessible for the disabled, and what is good for disabled persons is generally good for all.
